11-year-old Bethany Huang nominated for Art & Literature Awards May 31, 2011

Bethany Huang is nominated for Art & Literature Awards by Asian Heritage Awards for Huang’s debut novel The Eiffel Tower’s Daughter, along with other nominees Sichan Siv, Wendy Maruyama, Cecelia DeCastro, Rima Fujita, Whilce Portacio.  


Bethany Huang wrote “The Eiffel Tower’s Daughter” when she was 9 to 10 years old. Bethany Huang is recently awarded Chinese Star – Wold Chinese Model of Fame in May 2011.  Huang’s book is placed No. 1 on SBEP Reading List 2011 at Boys Hope Girls Hope, a nonprofit organization to help children to meet their full potential. The book is also placed at top 10% in Barnes & Noble List for Teen Fiction – Adventure. Bethany Huang Attends “World Chinese Model of Fame” at Beijing May 15, 2011

Bethany Huang (黄依妮) will arrive in Beijing, China from New York, USA to attend a grand ceremony of releasing stamp album for portraits of winners of World Chinese Model of Fame on May 21. Huang’s portraits will be in this special edition of stamp album. This trip will be Bethany Huang’s first visit to China.  Bethany Huang loves traveling. Some of inspirations for her debut novel “The Eiffel Tower’s Daughter” came from her traveling. Bethany Huang has been longing to visit China. She likes to learn more about Chinese culture and history.  This trip will be only a short stay in Beijing because she is school and the school is still session.  Bethany Huang will return to Beijing for sightseeing soon this summer. After attending the awarding ceremony for “World Chinese Model of Fame”, Bethany will head back to New York.

Bethany Huang was born in St LouisMissouri, and grew up in New York in USA. Bethany Huang is 11 years old.  Bethany Huang is in sixth-grade at Blue Mountain Middle School, New York, USA. She has a wide range of interests. She writes book reviews, participates in Girl Scouts, sketches and plays piano and flute. She not only enjoys reading, writing and mathematics, but also loves fashion design and business. Bethany Huang has already begun to write her second novel.  She is currently writing her second book.
